GhostBed

GhostBed Classic Review Highlights

  • Cooling Mattress: The GhostBed mattress is constructed with features that regulate your body heat, including cooling latex, breathable aeration in the top layer, and cool-to-touch gel memory foam.
  • Responsive: GhostBed uses latex foam as its top layer. Latex is known for its bouncy feel. It cushions your body weight without creating the sinking feeling associated with traditional memory foam.

A Look Inside

The biggest differences in mattress construction between these two beds is the latex layer in the GhostBed and the innerspring layer in the Brooklyn Signature. The Brooklyn Signature innerspring layer shares the bounce of the GhostBed latex layer, although the Signature feels much softer.

Inside the Brooklyn Bedding Mattress

inside brooklyn signature
  1. Mattress Topper: The top layer is made of a quilted mattress cover and plush foam layer.
  2. TitanFlex Foam: Brooklyn Signature’s top layer is made with proprietary TitaniumGel infused foam that regulates the temperature of the mattress. This layer is also hyper elastic, making it extra responsive to your changes in position.
  3. Energex Support Foam: The next foam layer is made from high density polyfoam. It adds an extra measure of contouring support and also transitions your body weight into the coil layer.
  4. Ascension Coils: Beneath the foam layers, individually wrapped pocketed coils reduce motion transfer and give the Brooklyn Signature extra support for diverse body types.
  5. Support Foam: The base layer is made from dense, durable foam that keeps the entire mattress level and well supported.

Inside the GhostBed Classic

the ghostbed layers
  1. Mattress Cover: GhostBed uses a plush, moisture-wicking polyester-viscose fabric for their cover layer. We recommend using a waterproof mattress protector even though the cover is moisture-wicking.
  2. Latex Foam: The GhostBed comfort layer is made of perforated latex foam. Tiny pin sized holes in the foam create airflow channels that allow heat to move away from your body.
  3. Memory Foam: The second foam layer is infused with cooling gel and provides targeted support for your different body regions – there is firmer foam under your lumbar region and softer foam under your shoulders and knees. This ergonomic support keeps your spine aligned in any sleeping position.
  4. Base Layer: The foundation of the GhostBed mattress is high density polyfoam that reduces sagging and keeps the mattress feeling like new for longer.

The Brooklyn Signature scored three points higher than the GhostBed for pressure relief during our pressure mapping test. The soft mattress is particularly good for side sleepers, while the medium mattress is ideal for stomach sleepers. The medium firmness of the GhostBed is also good for heavier stomach sleepers and back sleepers with any body type.
