Edge Support
Edge support describes how well a mattress maintains its support and structure when you sleep towards the edge of the bed or do something as simple as tying your shoes in the morning.
Both the Cocoon and Nectar Original are foam mattresses, and while hybrid or innerspring mattresses usually have better edge support, these two did not disappoint, each scoring a near-perfect 9/10 in edge support tests.
Set Up
The Cocoon and Nectar Original are bed-in-a-box mattresses, meaning they can be delivered right to your doorstep, sealed in a box. The boxes can be a bit heavy, so it’s recommended that you have at least one other person helping you out, but the mattresses themselves are both pretty easy to set up once they are out of the box. Once removed from the wrapping, they’ll expand to their normal size, and you’re good to go! Because of this, the Cocoon and Nectar Original each earned an 8/10 for set-up.
Spine Alignment
We all know how important it is to have good posture, but it’s easy to forget that our posture while we sleep matters just as much as our posture during the day. This is where spine alignment comes in. Mattresses that promote better spine alignment will help make sure your spine is in a healthy position, which will also help improve your daytime posture and ease back and neck pain. The Cocoon outperforms the Nectar Original in spine alignment, scoring a 9/10, while the latter scored a 7.5/10 on spine alignment tests.
Which Is the Best Mattress for You?
Read below to learn about how well the Nectar and Cocoon mattresses match your sleeping position, sleep environment, budget, and customer service needs.
Sleeping Position
Because they are both foam mattresses and both scored a 6/10 on the firmness scale, the Cocoon and Nectar Original provide stability and comfort for sleepers who choose any position.
They both provide amazing pressure relief, which makes them great choices for back and side sleepers, although ack sleepers may prefer the Cocoon since it outperformed the Nectar in spine alignment, which is crucial for sleeping comfortably on your back. Stomach sleepers will be able to sleep comfortably thanks to the support offered by both, and combination sleepers can choose whichever position they want thanks to the responsiveness of both the Cocoon and Nectar.
Sleep Environment
Since the Cocoon and Nectar Original are both foam mattresses, they do not provide the breathability or climate control that a traditional innerspring or hybrid mattress provides. If you sleep hot, a hybrid or traditional innerspring mattress may be a better option.
Budget
Nectar is slightly cheaper than Cocoon, which means it is a better option for those shopping on a tighter budget. You can save up to $150-$200 by choosing Nectar, depending on the mattress size you need.
Customer Service
Cocoon offers customer support on its website https://www.cocoonbysealy.com/, by email support@cocoonbysealy.com, or by calling (888) 818-4039. Nectar offers a live chat feature on its website https://www.nectarsleep.com/, email support support@nectarsleep.com, and a customer service line (888) 863-2827.
