What’s It Made of?

Removable Cover
Gravity’s Ombre Weighted Blanket comes wrapped in a 300 thread count premium cotton cover. Customers can choose between a tan, light grey, or blue ombre design. This duvet cover is removable and machine washable so you can keep it as fresh as the day you got it, making it a great weighted blanket for kids. Gravity also sells their other duvet covers made from different materials, like micro-fleece and moisture-wicking fabric, similar to athletic wear, for those looking to swap out their blanket’s feel.

Encasement
Underneath the removable cover is an encasement system that holds the blanket’s filler. This is a fabric exterior with individual pockets to help keep the weighted inner evenly distributed. Gravity uses precise grid stitching to keep the filler in place.
Weighted Inner
The Gravity Ombre Weighted Blanket uses fine-grade glass beads to give its weighted feel. Glass beads are a higher-end weighted blanket filler option and are typically preferred over plastic poly pellets thanks to their smooth feel. When testing the blanket, it felt sort of like a beanbag chair in blanket form.
About the Materials
Cotton
Cotton is a popular material option for blankets thanks to its breathability and durability. It’s machine washable and often gets softer the more it’s washed. Plus, it’s naturally hypoallergenic so those with sensitive skin or allergies don’t have to worry about waking up itchy.
Glass Beads
Gravity uses micro glass beads for the blanket’s filler. These are cut finely and resemble tiny grains of sand. Companies prefer using this material since it has a heavier weight than other fillers, meaning they can use less per blanket.
Glass beads are a great option for those with sensory sensitivities since they give the blanket a smoother feel that’s less bulky than other weighted blankets. It also helps keep the blanket feeling cool.
What Makes the Gravity Ombre Weighted Blanket Special?
- The Gravity Ombre Weighted Blanket comes in three ombre color options: tan, light grey, and our personal favorite, blue.
- Accidents happen, which is why we appreciate the Gravity Ombre Weighted Blanket’s machine washable cover.
