❌ Cons
- Noisy: When placing the Helix Weighted Blanket on our lap, we noticed it made a rustling noise, but this shouldn’t be too much of a problem once you’ve it placed where you want it.
- Temperature Regulation: While the Helix Weighted Blanket is very soft, it doesn’t do a very good job of keeping you cool due to its thick layers and choice of materials.

What’s It Made of?
Helix’s weighted blanket comes with a dual-side outer cover and an inner blanket, which is filled with glass beads. Learn more about each component of the blanket below.
Outer Cover
The Helix Weighted Blanket comes in a stylish grey color, which can be flipped over to a fluffy white side. It’s made with fleece and sheared microfiber. Users can remove the outer cover for an easy cleanup process.
Inner Blanket
Beneath the outer cover is the weighted blanket’s inner blanket, which is attached to the outer cover with ties. This contains fine-grade glass beads, which are the weighted element used in this blanket.
About the Materials
Fleece
Fleece is a super-soft option for bedding. Blankets with this type of material tend to retain heat well so you don’t have to worry about being cold at night. We especially liked the feel of the Helix Weighted Blanket fleece side.
Microfiber
Like fleece, microfiber is a plush material that feels soft to the skin. It tends to insulate well and last for a long time. Plus, it’s easy to wash when accidents occur.
Cotton
Cotton is a common material for bedding due to its breathability and durability. It’s also a very affordable material. Since this material was used in the inner portion of the blanket, we felt it didn’t do a very good job of keeping the blanket cool.
Glass Beads
Glass may seem like the last material you would want to use in your comfy blanket, but it’s actually a pretty common filler for weighted blankets. These have a smoother texture than other fillers and have a higher density, so you can use less for the same weight effect.
What Makes the Helix Weighted Blanket Special?
- Just as the Helix mattresses come in multiple size options, the Helix Weighted Blanket is offered in three different weight options: 10 lbs, 15 lbs, and 20 lbs.
- The Helix Weighted Blanket’s super fluffy outer cover makes you feel like you’re being wrapped in the best hug ever!
- Its removable cover is machine washable so you can toss it in the washing machine and keep it looking as good as the day you bought it.

Is the Helix Weighted Blanket Right for You?
The Helix Weighted Blanket is a great sleep accessory for those experiencing anxiety or wanting a more restful sleep. Weighted blankets like this one are known for alleviating stress and reducing sensory processing disorder effects so you can turn off your brain at night. With three different weight options to choose from, it works for a variety of body types.
We, however, wouldn’t recommend this as a weighted blanket for children or those weighing less than 100 lbs since it’s a little heavier than the recommended weight for these types of sleepers. It also didn’t score very well in our temperature regulation evaluation. For a cooler option, consider the Gravity Ombre Weighted Blanket, which scored 9/10 in this category.
Helix Weighted Blanket FAQs
How do I know what size Helix Weighted Blanket to order?
Helix recommends ordering your weighted blanket size based on how much you weigh. They suggest selecting the lower of two weights if you are between sizes. The following is their suggestion for what size to get for each body weight:
- 10 lbs: Body weight 100-125 lbs
- 15 lbs: Body weight 125-200 lbs
- 20 lbs: Body weight over 200 lbs
How exactly does the Helix Weighted Blanket work?
The Helix Weighted Blanket uses the weight distribution of fine-grade glass beads with the comfort of the soft fleece cover to provide a cozy, relaxing experience. Weighted blankets are often used to reduce stress, alleviate sensory processing disorder, and promote restfulness.
Does the Helix Weighted Blanket get hot?
While Helix uses breathable fibers in its cover to promote airflow, we felt it wasn’t very cooling and would be a better blanket to use when it’s cold.
Can I place the entire Helix Weighted Blanket in the washing machine?
No. While the Helix Weighted Blanket Cover is machine washable, the inner weighted blanket needs to be spot cleaned only.
Will my Helix Weighted Blanket ship with my Helix mattress?
No. Helix ships its weighted blankets from a different facility than its mattresses so it won’t arrive with your mattress.
