Motion Transfer

One area where the Avocado Eco Organic mattress fell short was motion isolation. During our motion transfer test, we could really feel our partner moving around. This, of course, isn’t really a problem if you sleep alone or don’t mind an occasional repositioning of your partner. If you are somebody that wants a mattress with excellent motion isolation, you may want to look at the DreamCloud Premier mattress, which ranked high on our best mattresses for couples list. The Mend Adapt mattress also did well in this category and is another eco-friendly mattress to consider.

Pressure Relief

To test the Avocado Eco Organic’s ability to relieve pressure, we used a pressure map tool. This uses warmer colors, like orange and red, to show us if there are pressure buildup areas. A pressure map with mostly cool colors, like blues and greens, signifies that the mattress does a great job of relieving pressure. When our lighter tester laid on their side, the pressure map was blue and green, and when they laid on their back it was all blue.

As you can see below, our heavier tester also had all blues and greens for both positions. This shows that the Avocado Eco Organic would be a great mattress for all body types.

Responsiveness

Responsiveness is important for those who want ease in changing positions at night. As a medium-firm, hybrid mattress, this bed was exceptional in allowing our tester to transition from their side to their back. They didn’t experience any sinking feelings, which are common in all-foam mattresses.

Spine Alignment

Here at Mattress Advisor, we pay careful attention to how well each product does at keeping the spine in a neutral position. This helps ensure that you won’t wake up with back pain from unnecessary pressure during the night. What Sleeping Position Does It Work For?

Thanks to the Avocado Eco Organic’s excellent pressure relief, this mattress works well for all sleeping positions. It also scored a perfect responsiveness score, making it an excellent option for combination sleepers who change positions throughout the night. The mattress’s support system does a great job at elevating back sleepers and stomach sleepers, while still being soft enough for side sleepers.

How Much Weight Does the Avocado Eco Organic Mattress Support?

Avocado recommends no more than 350 lbs per person or 700 lbs total for their larger mattress models. They design their beds to support a lot of weight. To help your bed last longer, Avocado suggests rotating the mattress regularly and using a solid foundation or sturdy frame.

What Foundations or Bed Frames Are Compatible?

To qualify for the Avocado Eco Organic mattress warranty, it’s important to use a proper bed frame. Avocado defines a proper bed frame as one with at least 5-6 leg support for a Queen, King, and California King mattress, or 4 leg support for Twin and Full mattresses. They also recommend that slated bed frames should have no more than 5” space between each slat to ensure proper structural support, with each slat being a minimum of 2.5” wide.

What’s Unboxing Like?

Unboxing the Avocado Eco Organic mattress took us under two minutes. The mattress came compressed in a tall cardboard box and wrapped in a trashbag-like plastic that is apparently recyclable. Once on the mattress, we noticed a slight sweet smell but it went away pretty fast. The mattress comes with handles stitched on the side, to make for easy transportation.

Sleep Trial Period

Return Policy

If after 30 days of trying your new mattress you decide the Avocado Eco Organic isn’t for you, you can contact Avocado at support@avocadomattress.com to obtain a return authorization and arrange for your free return. Make sure you have your order number available. A refund will be issued after Avocado receives your mattress for recycling or charitable donation.

To be eligible for a return, your mattress must be in a good condition for donations, free of stains, tears, or excessive odors. Your mattress must also have the law tag still attached.

Is the Avocado Eco Organic Right for You?
