What We Love About the DreamCloud Premier Rest Mattress
- No need for a mattress topper with this bed since it comes with a cushioning pillow top made from DreamCloud’s cashmere blend.
- Those who care about Mother Nature will especially appreciate that all the foam layers are made from CertiPUR-US certified materials, meaning they have minimal emissions and meet content standards.
- The comfort layer does an excellent job of providing pressure relief in major buildup areas, like the hips and shoulders.
Here at Mattress Advisor, we rate each factor on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the best. Then we calculate our final score using a weighted average. Learn more about our review and scoring process.

Pros and Cons
- Motion Transfer: Despite having an innerspring system, the DreamCloud Premier Rest isolates motion so couples don’t have to worry about waking each other up.
- Responsiveness: If you’re looking for a bed where you can move around easily, this is a great option since the springs make it very responsive.
- Pressure Relief: During our evaluation, the DreamCloud Premier Rest had a great pressure map reading for all sleep positions.
- Edge Support: This mattress doesn’t have strong edge support, which could be problematic for those who need help getting into bed or like to sleep near the edge.
- Price: As DreamCloud’s luxury mattress, this mattress comes with a high price tag (regular price for a queen size is nearly $2,000) that may be out of reach for those on a budget.
- Weight: A queen-size DreamCloud Premier Rest weighs in at a robust 120 lbs, so moving the mattress is likely a two-person job.
Motion transfer looks at how well a mattress isolates movement from one side of the bed. This is especially important if you sleep with a partner, pet, or child since it can help ensure you don’t feel them move around.
The DreamCloud Premier Rest did a pretty good job of isolating movement during our evaluation at the Mattress Advisor lab. The coil system made it a little bouncy, though, so light sleepers may feel some movement. Those who want a mattress with even higher marks in this category would do better with an all-foam mattress that really absorbs motion.
One evaluation category on which the DreamCloud Premier Rest fell short was edge support. When our tester sat on the end of the bed, the layers collapsed on top of each other and pushed their body forward. If you like to get ready for your day by sitting on the edge of your bed or if you have trouble getting into bed, this may not be a great option for you. Instead, consider the WinkBed GravityLux mattress, which scored a perfect 10/10 in this category.
To measure pressure relief, we use a special pressure map that looks at areas where there may be buildup. Blue and green colors mean it has little to no pressure buildup, while yellows and reds mean it has some or a lot.
When measuring the pressure on the DreamCloud Premier Rest, we got all blue and green images for all three major sleep positions. Side sleepers especially get good pressure relief in the shoulder and hip areas. Our back image was completely blue, making it a great option for those with back pain.
Where Does It Fall on the Firmness Scale?
The DreamCloud Premier Rest mattress falls at a 6.5/10 on the firmness scale. This is the industry standard for medium-firm, a firmness level that appeals to a variety of body types and sleeping positions.

Does the DreamCloud Premier Rest Sleep Cool?
As a hybrid, the DreamCloud Premier Rest sleeps pretty cool. The individually wrapped coils do a great job of promoting airflow so it doesn’t get trapped like an all-foam mattress. This mattress also has a breathable cover.
How the DreamCloud Premier Rest Supports Different Sleeping Positions
The DreamCloud Premier Rest is a mattress that works for most body types in most sleep positions. Here’s how it breaks down by position.
Side sleepers need lots of pressure relief in the hips and shoulders. The Premier Rest excels in this department—we gave it a 9.5/10 for pressure relief after observing that it showed little to no pressure buildup in our pressure-mapping test. Side sleepers of all body types should find that it has enough give in its pillow-top layer and foam comfort layer for comfortable sleep.
The medium-firm firmness of the DreamCloud Premier Rest should work well for most back sleepers. The mattress provides plenty of support and pressure relief for this position—in our pressure-mapping color test we noticed only blue colors and no yellows or reds while lying on our backs, which indicates zero buildup of pressure. On the other hand, the mattress only provides so-so spine alignment in this position. Most back sleepers will have no issue with the Premier Rest; however, back sleepers weighing 230 lbs or more are likely to need a firmer mattress.
Stomach sleepers tend to need a firmer mattress to keep their hips in good alignment. Lightweight and average-weight sleepers will likely get the firmness they need for comfortable and well-supported stomach sleeping; however, heavier sleepers will not. If you weight more than 230 lbs or so and tend to spend most of your sleep time on your stomach, look for a firmer mattress option.
The Premier Rest is a good option for combination sleepers of all sizes due to its ability to support most sleep positions well and high responsiveness. In our testing, we gave the mattress a 9/10 for responsiveness, which shows that the bed responds quickly to your repositioning, and it’s easy to move around on it.
Is the DreamCloud Premier Rest Good for Pain Relief?
In our pressure map testing, we found almost no buildup of pressure from the mattress, which suggests that it’s a good one if you suffer from back pain. The so-so 7.5/10 score for spine alignment might give you pause, but for the most part we found this mattress to be an above-average one for those with back pain due to its contouring memory foam.
Hip pain is primarily a concern for side sleepers and stomach sleepers. The Premier Rest has enough give to it to support those in a side-sleeping position without causing pain or tension to build up. For stomach sleepers, however, the likelihood of hip pain might depend on body type. If you’re a heavier stomach sleeper, you might find that the Premier Rest isn’t firm enough to keep your hips from sinking out of alignment with your shoulders.
Shoulder pain can be exacerbated by sleeping on your side on the wrong mattress. The Premier Rest can help with shoulder pain by providing a forgiving, pressure-relieving surface for those who sleep in this position. The mattress’s multiple foam comfort layers allow for comfortable sleep without any buildup of tension or pain in the shoulders.
How Much Weight Does the DreamCloud Premier Rest Mattress Support?
DreamCloud designs its Premier Rest mattress with quality materials made to last. While DreamCloud doesn’t list a specific weight capacity, the DreamCloud Premier Rest should support up to 650 lbs—more than enough for light and average-weight sleepers.
What Foundations or Bed Frames Are Compatible?
The DreamCloud Premier Rest mattress works well with all types of bed frames. This includes traditional frames, foundations, divan bases, adjustable bases, and box springs. To elevate your DreamCloud experience, consider pairing your mattress with The Move Adjustable Bed Frame.
DreamCloud Premier Rest Mattress Materials
As DreamCloud’s tallest mattress, the DreamCloud Premier Rest is full of seven layers of luxury. Each layer consists of luxury materials to let you feel like you’re royalty.
- Luxury Cashmere-Blend Cover: The DreamCloud Premier Rest mattress comes covered in a plush cashmere blend cover that’s as soft as a cloud.
- Pillow Top Support Layer (1″): This layer has a soft foam that helps compliment the mattress’ pillow top.
- Pressure Relief Comfort Layer (2.5″): Another layer of foam contours to your body and targets areas that need the most pressure relief.
- Enhanced Support Layer (2″): This layer uses supportive foam to give resistance to the bed.
- Targeted-Support Coil Layer (8.5″): Making up a majority of the mattress, the individually wrapped coils promote airflow and reduce motion transfer.
- Stability-Focused Base Layer (1″): At the bottom, a stay-put foam layer supports the top layers.

What’s Unboxing Like?
Like other bed-in-box mattress companies, DreamCloud sends the Premier Rest compressed in a tall cardboard box. Once you move the box to your desired room, you can slide the mattress out and unroll it from its plastic wrapping. We noticed a slight off-gassing smell when unboxing, and we recommend getting a friend to help you since a queen-size model weighs 120 lbs.

Sleep Trial Period
DreamCloud gives you a full year before making a commitment so you can see what the bed is like for every season. This starts the day you receive your mattress and they recommend sleeping on the mattress for at least 30 days to give your body time to adjust to the new bed.
If you decide during your 365-night trial that you no longer want your Premier Rest mattress, you can reach out to the company and a DreamCloud Sleep Concierge will help arrange for your mattress to be donated to a local organization.
DreamCloud Premier Rest Mattress Warranty
DreamCloud protects its mattresses with a lifetime warranty to all original owners. For the first 10 years of owning the Premier Rest, DreamCloud will replace your mattress with a new one at no additional fee if they deem it defective. After 10 years, they will repair or re-cover your mattress for free, minus a transportation fee. This warranty covers the following items:
- Any indentations greater than 1.5″ despite normal use
- Any physical flaws in the mattress, causing foam layers to split

Opened mattresses can be returned any time after the 30-day break-in period during your sleep trial. If you haven’t opened your mattress’s box, you can return it any time after your delivery within 90 days. Mattresses unopened for more than 90 days are ineligible for a warranty since DreamCloud considers them misused. Returned mattresses must also be in a condition where they can be donated.
To file for a return, make sure you submit all the required information and documentation. DreamCloud will issue your refund in the form of payment you used for your original purchase. This excludes the amount for any promotional items you received with your mattress.
What makes the DreamCloud Premier Rest different from the DreamCloud Premier?
The DreamCloud Premier Rest is 2″ thicker than the DreamCloud Premier and comes with an enhanced support layer. It also has a higher price tag than the Premier since it includes premium features, such as additional pressure-relieving technology.
How long does the DreamCloud Premier Rest mattress take to expand?
After unboxing your DreamCloud Premier Rest mattress, it takes approximately 72 hours to reach its full height. To speed up the process, leave your mattress in a well-ventilated room or move around on it. You can sleep on your mattress before the 72-hour period is up, but be advised that it may not feel like it will once it expands fully.
What can I do to make sure my DreamCloud Premier Rest mattress lasts?
First, make sure you place it on a firm, solid surface so it gets the support it needs. Also, change your bedding regularly and use a mattress pad or protector to prevent damage. Other ways to extend your mattress’s lifespan include rotating it every three months and vacuuming it once a month.
Is the DreamCloud Premier Rest Right for You?
The DreamCloud Premier Rest is a great mattress for those wanting a luxury experience of comfort. If you’re looking to upgrade your current bedroom mattress, then this would make a great match. It comes with a plush pillow top and cashmere blend cover so you can sleep well. As a hybrid, it combines the best components of memory foam and innerspring mattresses to create a match made in the stars. You can even complete your hotel feel with DreamCloud’s luxury cotton sheets.
However, if you’re shopping on a tight budget, consider one of our best mattresses under $1,000. We also don’t recommend this mattress for stomach sleepers who need a firmer sleep surface or heavier back sleepers who need more spinal alignment.
