The Luxi One by LuxiSleep is a memory foam mattress with a unique composition. Unlike other all-foam mattresses, the Luxi One has a middle layer of memory foam designed to optimize point elasticity—meaning, the foams compress locally rather than over a large area. This shape-molding technology delivers targeted cushion and support for every sleep position.

Healthy spine alignment matters 24/7. During the day, proper alignment is termed posture. At night, it’s simply called spine alignment. We test every mattress for how well it supports a neutral spine. A good score is helpful for anyone, but it’s especially valuable for those who struggle with back and neck pain or stiffness.
To see how well a mattress supports the spine, we have our sleep testers lie on the mattress. We then take a look at their spines. What we want to see is a straight line from the tailbone all the way up to the neck.
Take a look at RJ’s and Asha’s spines in the video—they’re almost perfectly straight! This is great news for anyone who normally wakes up with new aches and pains.
When you lie down on a mattress, you want your weight to be evenly distributed. This is the case no matter your sleeping position, but it’s of the greatest importance for side sleepers. You want a mattress that doesn’t put too much pressure on your pressure points—i.e. your shoulders and hips.
To see how well a mattress distributes pressure, we get technical. We bring in our pressure mapping film and have our mattress testers lie on their backs and sides. We then take a look at the computer-generated pressure map, looking out for areas of high pressure. Blues and greens are great and show even weight distribution, while yellows and reds show regions of excess pressure. Reds mark areas of excessive pressure that are likely to result in pain over time.
Take a look at RJ’s and Asha’s pressure maps. Asha has very few high-pressure areas, while RJ has a good amount of excess pressure in his shoulder when lying on his side. What these results tell us is that the Luxi One does a good job at distributing weight for back sleepers and lightweight side sleepers. Side sleepers who weigh more than 130 pounds may experience heightened pressure at their shoulders.
Most people sleep best on a mattress that quickly adapts to their movements. How well a bed adjusts to movements is known as its responsiveness. A traditional innerspring mattress is quite responsive, while a slow-response memory foam mattress is less so.
To rate a mattress’s responsiveness, we have our mattress experts lie down and change sleeping positions. They rate the mattress on a 1–10 scale based on how easy it was to move and how quickly they settled into their new position.
Our sleep testers gave the Luxi One a combined 8.75/10 for responsiveness. This is a good score for people who toss and turn at night or anyone who dislikes the sinking feel of some memory foam mattresses.
The Luxi One mattress supports all sleeping positions. The shape-molding technology found in the memory foam layer adjusts to support the body in every position. The resulting body alignment works well for back sleepers and stomach sleepers. And side sleepers are well-suited by the soft sleeping surface, especially lightweight side sleepers.
The Luxi One earned an 8/10 in our cooling evaluation. Thanks to open-cell foam and an incredibly breathable memory foam layer, the Luxi mattress is much better at supporting temperature regulation than most all-foam mattresses. However, it’s not the coolest mattress that we’ve tested.
The Luxi One is designed for people who weigh less than 230 pounds. At only nine inches, this mattress simply doesn’t offer the level of support needed by bigger bodies.
The Luxi One Mattress is compatible with most firm and flat surfaces. This includes a box spring, platform base, slats, adjustable frame, or even the floor.
The Luxi One is a three-layer memory foam mattress. Let’s take a look at how each layer influences the overall feel.

The Luxi One is a bed-in-a-box-mattress that comes compressed and rolled up in a box. You will simply open the casing, unroll the mattress, and watch it spring to life. It took two of us only two minutes to set up, and it reached its full shape right away. There was a slight odor, but that faded quickly.

Luxi mattresses come with the industry-standard 100-night trial period. Once you’ve slept on your mattress for 30 nights, Luxi will accept a return for a full refund. However, first they will try to work with you to see if there’s a way to make the mattress work. This is in an effort to reduce mattress waste and potential mattresses ending up in landfills.
The Luxi mattress comes with a 10-year warranty. This covers defects in workmanship or materials. To submit a claim, reach out to Luxi’s customer service team.
The best way to get in touch with Luxi is to give them a call at 909-270-8340. If they don’t answer, they’ll give you a callback. When we’ve reached Luxi customer service representatives, we’ve spoken with some of the most knowledgeable reps in the mattress industry.
To initiate a return, you must wait until you’ve had your new mattress for 30 nights. After that waiting period, simply contact Luxi during your 100-night trial and they’ll help you with the return. If they can’t find a way to fix your problem, they’ll have you donate your mattress to a local charity before issuing a refund.
The Luxi One performed well in the Mattress Advisor lab, earning a 7.75/10 or higher in every test that influences the sleeping experience. We were particularly impressed with how well Luxi’s unique foam technology supported optimal spine alignment. It’s also much cooler and easier to move around on than the average mattress, and its solid edges and all-foam construction make it an excellent mattress for couples.
While there’s lots to love about the Luxi One, it’s not going to be the right mattress for everyone. The one group of people for whom we do not recommend this mattress are heavier people. If you weigh more than 230 pounds, we suggest looking at a hybrid mattress for adequate support and cushion. One of our top picks for plus-size sleepers is the Saatva HD.
The Luxi One is the only memory foam mattress with Luxi’s unique grid-like memory foam layer. Known as their Support Balancing Technology (SBT), this layer does an incredible job of supporting healthy body alignment in every sleeping position. It’s this layer that makes the Luxi one of the best soft mattresses for back, stomach, and side sleepers.

While both of these mattresses are all-foam beds that boast Luxi’s proprietary shape molding technology, only the 3-in-1 is an adjustable bed. Unlike the Luxi One which comes in one softness, the 3-in-1 allows you to choose between three different firmness levels: soft, medium, and firm. This adjustability makes the Luxi 3-in-1 better for folks who aren’t sure what firmness level they prefer.
Another difference between these beds is that the Luxi 3-in-1 allows individual customization on each side of the mattress. With different firmnesses on each side of the bed, couples with different mattress preferences can sleep together—without either person having to sacrifice what they need.
While the Luxi 3-in-1 mattress has perks that the Luxi One doesn’t, the Luxi One is more affordable. If you know that you prefer a medium-soft feel, the Luxi One may be the better choice.
