Nectar Classic Hybrid: The Highs and Lows
✅ Pros
- Edge Support: When our testers lay on the edge of the bed, they still felt supported and in little danger of rolling off.
- Cooling: With a gel-infused memory foam layer and quilted cooling cover, this mattress does an excellent job of keeping you at an optimal temperature.
- Motion Transfer: Our testers barely felt each other move around on the Nectar Classic Hybrid, making it a great choice for couples and co-sleepers.
❌ Cons
- Weight: Since this is a hybrid mattress with an innerspring system, it’s much heavier than an all-foam mattress and may be challenging to carry up a flight of stairs.
- Noisy: While moving around on the Nectar Classic Hybrid, we noticed it was kind of noisy and may disturb light sleepers who sleep with a partner.
Motion Transfer
Motion transfer is particularly important for those who sleep with a significant other or pet since it lets you know whether a mattress will suppress movement that occurs on one side of the bed from reaching the other side.
For our motion transfer test, we had one evaluator lay on the bed with their eyes closed while another evaluator gets into the bed and moves around. The evaluator with their eyes closed barely felt any movement, showing that this mattress has great motion isolation.
Edge Support
Another important area we test in our lab is edge support, or how well a mattress holds a sleeper when they move toward the end of the bed. Since this mattress has a coil system, it does an excellent job at keeping you from falling onto the floor. Our evaluators felt like they were in the middle of the bed despite being near the perimeter.
Responsiveness
The Nectar Classic Hybrid has a very bouncy feel to it thanks to its hybrid construction. Changing positions on it was fairly easy thanks to its high level of responsiveness.
Pressure Relief
As you search for a new mattress, it’s important to find one that offers great pressure relief for your preferred sleeping position. During our testing, we use a pressure map to see whether a mattress has any buildup areas. Areas with blue and green indicate that the mattress provides great pressure relief there while areas with yellow and red indicate it has some buildup.
The Nectar Classic Hybrid had all blues and greens when our tester lay on their back. There were a few areas of yellow in the hip region when they lay on their side but nothing major. If you’re a side sleeper with sensitive hips, you may want to look for a mattress with better pressure relief.

Where Does It Fall on the Firmness Scale?
The Nectar Classic Hybrid falls at about 6.5/10 on the firmness scale, which is the industry standard for medium-firm. We found it to feel slightly firmer than a traditional memory foam bed but felt it still had a slightly squishy feel to it. The bed does a good job of keeping your body elevated thanks to its coil system.

Does the Nectar Classic Hybrid Sleep Cool?
With a 9/10 score for cooling, the Nectar Classic Hybrid sleeps very cool. The cover has a cool-to-the-touch feel that you likely will feel even with sheets and blankets on top. Having a coil system, as opposed to solely foam layers, allows the mattress to promote breathability. The foam layers that it does have are infused with gel, helping to keep the surface at a refreshing temperature.
For an even cooler hybrid option, consider the Nectar Premier Hybrid or Nectar Premier Copper Hybrid, which come with advanced cooling features.

What Sleeping Position Does It Work For?
Since the Nectar Classic Hybrid is a medium-firm mattress, it works great for all types of sleeping positions. It’s also pretty responsive, making it easy for those who switch positions when they sleep.
However, side sleepers with sensitive hips may want to avoid this mattress since it had pressure buildup in that area.

How Much Weight Does the Nectar Classic Hybrid Mattress Support?
Nectar says its mattresses can support up to 650 lbs. Thanks to its coil layer, the Nectar Classic Hybrid should be sturdy enough to support average to plus-sized sleepers.
What Foundations or Bed Frames Are Compatible?
The Nectar Classic Hybrid Mattress works great with any type of solid foundation. This includes bed frames, box springs, bunkie boards, and platform beds. For bed frames with slats, make sure the slats are no more than 3″ apart to ensure proper support.

What’s Unboxing Like?
The Nectar Classic Hybrid comes rolled up in a tall cardboard box. It was easy for our team to unbox but we noticed that it took some time for the mattress to take its full shape. We wouldn’t recommend sleeping on this right away since it will need some time to inflate fully.

Is the Nectar Classic Hybrid Right for You?
Budget-friendly shoppers looking for an affordable hybrid will especially love the Nectar Classic Hybrid and its price tag. We also think this is a great mattress for hot sleepers thanks to its cooling cover and gel-infused memory foam layer. If you sleep with a partner or like to spread out on your bed, you’ll appreciate the sturdy edge support.
Keep in mind that the mattress is noisy and could wake you up if you’re a light sleeper who is easily woken up by noises. Those looking for a more luxurious hybrid can consider the advanced Nectar hybrids, which come with a taller construction and added cooling technologies.

How does the Nectar Classic Hybrid compare to the Nectar Premier Hybrid and Nectar Premier Copper Hybrid?

These premier options include a taller profile, ActiveLift HD technology, additional cooling technology, and a plush Euro Top. They also come with a higher price tag than the Nectar Classic Hybrid.
What is a hybrid mattress?
A hybrid mattress is one with foam layers and an innerspring system. This has the comfort benefits of all-foam mattresses, while adding the cooling and stability benefits of traditional innerspring mattresses.
How do I clean my Nectar Classic Hybrid?
Nectar advises spot cleaning your mattress’s cover with mild soap if you spill something or want to clean it. They don’t recommend taking the cover off completely since this can void your warranty and damage the foam layers. For bigger accidents, you can use an upholstery cleaner.
