SweetNight Breeze High Points
The SweetNight Breeze is a great option for budget shoppers who are looking for an all-around solid memory foam mattress that implements ventilation technology to improve cooling capabilities. The plush foam layers take pressure relief to a whole new level, and the high motion transfer score make this a great option for couples.
This review will dive deeper into what we love about this mattress, as well as explore some reasons that it may not be right for you.
What we loved about it:
- SweetNight Breeze comes in nine different sizes, with the standard sizes being offered in thicknesses of 8â, 10â, and 12â â something for every kind of shopper and sleeper.
- The 10â Queen size mattress costs $689, a very competitive price for such a quality mattress.Â
- The soft memory foam layers provided wonderful pressure relief for our sides and backs.
- We found that the SweetNight Breeze did a good job keeping us cool, a nice surprise since memory foam beds tend to score lower when it comes to temperature regulation.

SweetNight Breeze Performance Pros and cons
â Pros
- High pressure relief score means that youâll wake up free of back pain and that your shoulders and hips will be sufficiently supported.
- Breathable foam and cooling gel will help you sleep cool throughout the night.
- The SweetNight Breeze also scored well in our motion transfer tests, which indicates excellent motion isolation, so you wonât have to worry about being disturbed by your sleep partnerâs movements.
- SweetNight offers four other bed-in-a-box mattresses on their online store: The Sunkiss, a memory foam mattress; The Island, The Twilight, and The Ocean Blue hybrid mattresses.
â Cons
- Edge support was one of the lowest scores that the SweetNight Breeze received. As we sat on or rolled towards the side of the bed we noticed some considerable sagging and a slight feeling that we might slip off.Â
- After unboxing, the mattress took quite a while to puff up, which is an indicator of low long term durability.
- Though the mattress was very comfortable, it also felt somewhat doughy. As a result, it isnât as responsive as we would have liked. For this reason, it may not be the best choice for combination sleepers.
Pressure Relief
The pressure relief score reflects a mattressâ ability to support sensitive pressure points like shoulders, back, and hips. When a bed receives a low score it typically means that the ratio of support to comfort is off, not allowing the shoulders and hips to sink far enough into the foam.
This, however, is not an issue for the SweetNight mattress. Scoring a 9 on this test, the Breezeâs foam was soft enough that our shoulders and hips felt cushioned but not soft enough that our lower backs didnât feel supported. This quality can contribute to pain relief, making it a wonderful option if you have or are susceptible to back pain.

Edge Support
Edge support measures a mattressâ ability to hold up when weight is placed on one of itâs far sides. The score is based on both the support of the edge under someone sitting and someone lying down.
This was one area where we were not too impressed with the SweetNight Breeze. The edge dipped drastically when we sat on it, and though it was not as bad when we were horizontal but there was still a noticeable sag.

Spine Alignment
In order for a bed to be successful in this category it needs to conform to the natural curve of your spine. Doing so is important in preventing aches and pains. We found that on our backs and sides the SweetNight Breeze did an excellent job of keeping everything straight, but on our stomachs things got slightly out of whack, which is why the score got bumped down to a 7.5. If we were only measuring spine alignment for back and side sleepers the score would be a 9.

What is the Firmness of the SweetNight Breeze Mattress?
The SweetNight Breeze is the softest mattress that SweetNight offers. It has a firmness level of 6.5, putting it at medium-firm on the firmness scale.

Is the SweetNight Breeze Good for Every Sleeping Position?
Side Sleepers
Side sleepers should look for a mattress that is not too firm and has great pressure relief and spinal alignment. The SweetNight Breeze checks all of those boxes. Â
Stomach Sleepers
Though it might not be one of the best mattresses for stomach sleepers, the Sweet Night Breeze does offer exceptional pressure relief for your hips. The only drawback here is that your hips are so cushioned when on your stomach that the sinkage throws your spine slightly out of alignment.
Back Sleepers
Like side sleepers, back sleepers should find the Breezeâs medium-firmness and superb pressure relief ideal for their sleeping situation.Â
Combination Sleepers
Combination sleepers donât have any one exclusive sleeping position, instead they toss and turn throughout the night, frequently shifting position. Because of this, they need a springy, responsive bed that is easy to get out of and keeps up with their bodysâ movements. The doughiness of the SweetNight Breeze makes it difficult to move around on, especially for people with higher body weight.Â

Will I Get Warm on the SweetNight Breeze?
Surprisingly, the SweetNight Breeze does a good job of regulating temperature and staying cool. Most memory foam mattresses trap heat, but the cooling gel and ventilated layers in the SweetNight Breeze counteract or prevent that effect. Still, the SweetNight won’t be quite as cool as an innerspring or latex mattress.

Does the SweetNight Breeze Mattress Have a Weight Limit?
The SweetNight Breeze supports up to 551 lbs, so it works with most body types. If you have a larger body type, however, you may find the doughiness of the bed unpleasant.Â
Will Your Foundation or Bed Frame Work with the SweetNight Breeze?
The SweetNight Breeze works with any bed frame, hospital beds, box springs, and adjustable beds included.

What is the SweetNight Breeze Mattress Made of?
The SweetNight Breeze is a hypoallergenic, dust mite resistant gel memory foam mattress that combines three layers of high-quality memory foam with cooling gel and ventilation technology to create the softest and most effective cooling mattress that SweetNight offers.

- Rayon Breathable Mattress Cover: This top layer promotes airflow to keep heat from becoming trapped
- Gel Memory Foam Layer: Cool and plush to the touch, this comfort foam layer keeps sleepers cozy and cool with pressure relief and temperature regulation
- Ventilated Airflow Foam: Where memory foam would ordinarily absorb body heat and trap it, this Airflow foam allows for heat dissipation, so you can have a cool, comfortable sleep
- High Density Support Foam: Provides structure and durability; absorbs motion from the layers above

Unboxing the SweetNight Breeze Mattress
Unboxing the SweetNight Breeze took us about 1 minute 26 seconds. There was a strong off-gassing odor, but it was a sweet smell. It took a noticeable amount of time for the mattress to puff up completely.

Is the SweetNight Breeze Mattress the Right Choice?
The SweetNight Breeze has quite a bit going for it. It is quite affordable, with full size starting at $358 and queen size starting at $398. Whether you are a recent college graduate purchasing your first mattress or a new couple looking for a budget-friendly option, the quality of the Breeze is not at all reflected in the cost. With marks that compare to some of the higher-end mattresses weâve reviewed, this isnât just a mattress for people on a budget. High scores in spinal alignment and pressure relief make it a great bed for people with sleep problems, specifically aches and pains caused by lack of support.
Still, the Breeze might not be for everyone. Combination sleepers will likely find that the pillow top layer is somewhat quicksand-like â a quality that makes it difficult to shift positions frequently. However, SweetNight offers the Dreamy S1, which scored high in responsiveness. And if youâre someone who likes to sleep on the side of the bed, the Breezeâs underwhelming edge support may disappoint you.Â
See How SweetNight Breeze Compares to Other Affordable MattressesÂ
If you are looking for an affordable mattress that has better edge support than the Breeze, we recommend the Amazon Rivet. It is priced similarly to the SweetNight Breeze, but is made using an alt latex foam, as well as standard memory foam.Â
If responsiveness is what youâre after, check out our review of the Tuft & Needle. One of our favorite affordable options, the T&N performed better than the Breeze in the motion transfer and responsiveness tests.
Q.
Is the Breeze a flippable mattress?
A.
Not only does the Breeze not need to be flipped, it shouldn’t be flipped. The soft side of the mattress should always be on the top and the firm side should stay on the bottom. Otherwise you are not sleeping on the bed as you were intended to.
Q.
Does SweetNight make frames specifically for their mattresses?
A.
SweetNight does not currently sell frames or bases, but their mattresses are compatible with anything that you can buy from another maker or that you might already have.
Q.
Does it really take 72 hours for the mattress to expand?
A.
We did notice that it was taking a while after being unboxed for the mattress to puff out. SweetNight says that you can technically sleep on the mattress after 6 hours of unboxing, but for the best results you really should wait the full 72 hours.
