The pressure relief score reflects a mattress’ ability to support sensitive pressure points like shoulders, back, and hips. When a bed receives a low score it typically means that the ratio of support to comfort is off, not allowing the shoulders and hips to sink far enough into the foam.
This, however, is not an issue for the Sweetnight mattress. Scoring a 9 on this test, the Breeze’s foam was soft enough that our shoulders and hips felt cushioned but not soft enough that our lower backs didn’t feel supported. This quality can contribute to pain relief, making it a wonderful option if you have or are susceptible to back pain.
Edge support measures a mattress’ ability to hold up when weight is placed on one of it’s far sides. The score is based on both the support of the edge under someone sitting and someone lying down.
This was one area where we were not too impressed with the Sweetnight Breeze. The edge dipped drastically when we sat on it, and though it was not as bad when we were horizontal but there was still a noticeable sag.
In order for a bed to be successful in this category it needs to conform to the natural curve of your spine. Doing so is important in preventing aches and pains. We found that on our backs and sides the Sweetnight breeze did an excellent job of keeping everything straight, but on our stomachs things got slightly out of whack, which is why the score got bumped down to a 7.5. If we were only measuring spine alignment for back and side sleepers the score would be a 9.
Side sleepers should look for a mattress that is not too firm and has great pressure relief and spinal alignment. The Sweetnight Breeze checks all of those boxes.
Though it might not be one of the best mattresses for stomach sleepers, the Sweet Night Breeze does offer exceptional pressure relief for your hips. The only drawback here is that your hips are so cushioned when on your stomach that the sinkage throws your spine slightly out of alignment.
Like side sleepers, back sleepers should find the Breeze’s medium-firmness and superb pressure relief ideal for their sleeping situation.
Combination sleepers don’t have any one exclusive sleeping position, instead they toss and turn throughout the night, frequently shifting position. Because of this, they need a springy, responsive bed that is easy to get out of and keeps up with their bodys’ movements. The doughiness of the Sweetnight Breeze makes it difficult to move around on, especially for people with higher body weight.
Surprisingly, the Sweetnight Breeze does a good job of regulating temperature and staying cool. Most memory foam mattresses trap heat, but the cooling gel and ventilated layers in the Sweetnight Breeze counteract or prevent that effect. Still, the Sweetnight won’t be quite as cool as an innerspring or latex mattress.
The Sweetnight Breeze supports up to 551 lbs, so it works with most body types. If you have a larger body type, however, you may find the doughiness of the bed unpleasant.
The Sweetnight Breeze works with any bed frame, hospital beds, box springs, and adjustable beds included.
The Sweetnight Breeze is a hypoallergenic, dust mite resistant gel memory foam mattress that combines three layers of high-quality memory foam with cooling gel and ventilation technology to create the softest and most effective cooling mattress that Sweetnight offers.

Unboxing the Sweetnight Breeze took us about 1 minute 26 seconds. There was a strong off-gassing odor, but it was a sweet smell. It took a noticeable amount of time for the mattress to puff up completely.

Sweetnight allows you to try out the Breeze mattress for 100 days, during which time you will be able to return it for a full refund should you wish to do so. The Sweetnight Breeze has quite a bit going for it. It is quite affordable, with full size starting at $358 and queen size starting at $398. Whether you are a recent college graduate purchasing your first mattress or a new couple looking for a budget-friendly option, the quality of the Breeze is not at all reflected in the cost. With marks that compare to some of the higher-end mattresses we’ve reviewed, this isn’t just a mattress for people on a budget. High scores in spinal alignment and pressure relief make it a great bed for people with sleep problems, specifically aches and pains caused by lack of support.
Still, the Breeze might not be for everyone. Combination sleepers will likely find that the pillow top layer is somewhat quicksand-like – a quality that makes it difficult to shift positions frequently. And if you’re someone who likes to sleep on the side of the bed, The Breeze’s underwhelming edge support may disappoint you.
If you are looking for an affordable mattress that has better edge support than the Breeze, we recommend the Amazon Rivet. It is priced similarly to the Sweetnight Breeze, but is made using an alt latex foam, as well as standard memory foam.
If responsiveness is what you’re after, check out our review of the Tuft & Needle. One of our favorite affordable options, the T&N performed better than the Breeze in the motion transfer and responsiveness tests.
Not only does the Breeze not need to be flipped, it should not be flipped. The soft side of the mattress should always be on the top and the firm side should stay on the bottom. Otherwise you are not sleeping on the bed as you were intended to.
Sweetnight does not currently sell frames or bases, but their mattresses are compatible with anything that you can buy from another maker or that you might already have.
We did notice that it was taking a while after being unboxed for the mattress to puff out. Sweetnight says that you can technically sleep on the mattress after 6 hours of unboxing, but for the best results you really should wait the full 72 hours.
