Learn all about the Allswell mattress, how it scored in our testing, and more in our in-depth Allswell mattress review.
The Allswell Mattress Highlights
- The Allswell is a medium-firm hybrid mattress made with memory foam and pocket coils offered at a disruptive price point without compromising on quality.
- Side sleepers will generally prefer the softer option (the Luxe Hybrid) – it has a little more give to support the curves of your body.
- Back sleepers can find comfort in either model (lucky for you!).
- Stomach sleepers will tend to be more comfortable on the firmer mattress (The Allswell). Firm mattresses can tend to cause back pain among stomach sleepers.
- If you use your bed to watch TV, read, or find yourself sitting up in bed, you might find more comfort in the firmer option.
- With Allswell, you can complete your entire bedding look with curated bedding accessories inspired by well-known interior designers. Learn more here.
The Allswell Mattress Review

What Makes the Allswell a Great Mattress?
Unbeatable Prices
Allswell Home, launched by Walmart, entered the bed-in-a-box industry offering mattresses at a disruptive price point. A queen Allswell mattress costs only $345, which is a third of the price of other leading brands. Although it’s not our best rated hybrid mattress, for those looking for a quality mattress that doesn’t break the bank, look no further.
A One-Stop-Shop for a Bedroom Makeover
Allswell gives its customers the opportunity to find not only a quality mattress for less but also allows them to outfit their entire bedroom. From Modern Glam to Globally Inspired curated bedding collections, Allswell is a one-stop shop when it comes to giving your sleep space a facelift.

Minimal Motion Transfer
If you sleep with a partner, you’ll definitely want a mattress that absorbs motion well. If your bed partner moves, you don’t want to feel it. That’s where motion transfer comes in. The better your mattress absorbs the movement of your partner, the better you sleep. The Allswell mattress scored a 9 out of 10 for motion, meaning if you want uninterrupted sleep, this mattress is a good option for couples.
What to Watch Out For
- The Allswell is a decent mattress for the price it is offered at, but beware it’s hard to tell how long a mattress at this price point will last.
- The firmness of the Allswell mattress is listed as a 4.5 – 6.5 out of 10 on the Allswell website; however, we believe this mattress to be more like a 7 to 7.5 on the firmness scale.
- There may be a slight odor after you unbox your Allswell mattress. This is normal and should go away within a few hours.
- Your mattress may also need time to take its full shape. You should see an inflated mattress pretty quickly but it’s possible it could take up to 48 hours to reach peak height.

⭐Total Score for the Allswell mattress⭐

Testing Highlights
Check out these highlights from our testing day to get a deeper look into the Allswell mattress and its performance.
Unboxing the Mattress
It took us exactly a minute and a half to unbox the Allswell mattress. This mattress wasn’t too heavy but it did not take its full shape instantly. It had a mild odor when it was first opened but it went away quickly. A queen size mattress weighs approximately 85 lbs, which is pretty light. But still, mattresses are awkward to carry, so you might want to recruit some help to get this thing set up.
Motion Transfer Test
Couples, pay attention to this next test! No one wants their sleeping partner’s restlessness stealing their sleep.
While our sleep subjects were testing motion transfer on the Allswell, they noticed they didn’t feel their partner’s movements too much! So for the first part of our motion transfer test, they gave the Allswell an 8.75 out fo 10.

The Wine Test
Next, we performed the wine test to have a great visual of the motion isolation. That wine was practically still while on the Allswell, so we give it a 9.25 out of 10.
Pressure Relief Test
Pressure relief is important for anyone who doesn’t wake to wake up in pain (aka everyone). There was very minimal red located in the joints of our sleep subjects. However, there was a fair amount of yellow.
For this test the Allswell scored an 8.25 out of 10. Take a look below to see the pressure mapping results.

Spine Alignment Test
The spines of our sleep subjects were in decent alignment while on this bed. There is a slight dip in the hips which can increase the chances of a pinch in the lower-lumbar spine. See our photo capturing this below.

Customer Reviews
“I’ve had this bed for a month now and it is so comfortable. I’m also a very hot sleeper and hate most beds for retaining my body heat. This does not. I’m so happy.” – Jay
“After about a week sleeping on my new Allswell, I woke up the other day and literally said out loud, “I love everything about my new mattress!!” I loved the price point, I love that the company works toward a philanthropic mission, and I love the comfort I feel slipping into bed at night. I only wish I could spend more time there!!” – Kate
“The mattress is awesome. Super quality at such a fab price. Heavy duty product, light on the bank account. We don’t think its as firm as some other reviewers, but I suppose that’s subjective! This baby is just right.” – Alice
