• Edge Support: You definitely don’t need to worry about sliding off the edge of this bed—it earned a practically perfect score for edge support.
• Spine Alignment: Got back pain? We’d wager that it will improve after sleeping all night with good posture on the WinkBeds mattress.
• Responsiveness: The WinkBeds mattress will keep up with you as you change position throughout the night.

❌ Cons

• Motion Transfer: We weren’t impressed with WinkBeds Luxury Firm’s motion isolation; we gave it only a 6.4 out of 10 for that metric. There was a fair amount of jostling about when our partner got in and out of bed.
• Ease of Set-Up: Setting up the Luxury Firm was OK, but you can find better. We ranked it a 7.5 out of 10 in our mattress lab, in part because the queen mattress weighs a hefty 135 lbs.
• Pressure Relief: Side sleepers may find this mattress not to be ideal for their purposes, because the pressure relief in your hips and shoulders isn’t as present as it might be on the softer version.

Edge Support

The WinkBeds mattress did an excellent job of keeping its structure as our testers sat on its edge to tie their shoes, and it also remained comfortable when they laid near the edge. In fact, they felt as if they could sleep on the edge of the mattress all night long without falling off, so we gave the WinkBeds luxury firm mattress a combined score of 9.75/10 for edge support.

Motion Transfer

The WinkBeds mattress didn’t isolate our testers’ movements as well as other mattresses we’ve tested. One tester even noted that the bed felt a bit shaky. When we placed a glass of red wine on the top of the mattress (a visible indicator of motion transfer), we saw the glass tilting quite a bit when we jostled the mattress. You can see the video of our wine test below. Based on both tests, we gave the WinkBeds mattress a 6.4/10 for motion isolation, so this may not be the best mattress for couples. 

Responsiveness

If you like getting comfortable fast, the WinkBeds mattress is a great choice. We gave it a 9/10 for responsiveness because it adapted so quickly when we asked our testers to repeatedly change position while lying on the mattress. This makes this mattress great for sex or for the sleeper who changes positions throughout the night. Also, seniors will appreciate the ease of movement the WinkBeds Luxury Firm offers.

Position Support

We think the WinkBeds mattress is nice for hot sleepers, which is why we gave it an 8/10 for cooling. The temperature regulating magic comes from the breathable cover, gel-infused foam, and dual coil system that keeps warm air flowing out of the mattress.

The WinkBeds mattress is delivered compressed and rolled in a 20″ x 20″ x 44″ box. Even compressed in its box, we found this mattress to be a bit tough to maneuver, due to the mattress’s weight. However, once you get the product to your bed frame, it gets easier: Unroll it, and carefully cut off the plastic packaging. It will start rising instantly, and can take a few hours to reach its full size. If you notice an off-gassing scent, turn on a fan or open up a window, and the smell should be gone within a few hours.
