My Green Natural Escape Mattress

The My Green Mattress Natural Escape is the company’s standard all-natural hybrid bed. The core is composed of a pocketed coil spring system and layer of OEKO-TEX certified and GOLS certified organic Dunlop latex. On top, GOTS certified organic cotton adds a layer of extra cushion under the GOTS certified organic wool quilted cover

There is lots to love about this bed. Hybrid mattresses run cooler than all-foam mattresses because the innerspring layer allows air to flow more freely. Latex is also naturally cooler than most foams, so you don’t need to worry about overheating in the Natural Escape. The quilted cover uses wool, to reduce fire risk, rather than chemical flame retardants.

Additionally the coil system is split into 5 zones that provide targeted support to the different parts of your spine. Specifically the mattress center features extra-strong coils positioned more densely to provide lumbar support. The coils that frame the mattress are also thicker, giving you adequate edge support. The medium-firm firmness level works especially well for back and stomach sleeping positions. Latex and coils are naturally springy, which reduces motion transfer—a great feature for couples.

My Green Kiwi Mattress

The Kiwi Mattress is My Green Mattress’s simpler hybrid—perfect for kids or guests. It includes the same supportive pocketed coil spring system and a thinner layer of GOLS certified organic and OEKO-TEX certified Dunlop latex. It’s also topped with the same GOTS certified organic cotton and wool quilted cover. It can also be used on an adjustable bed base, in addition to standard platforms.

This bed is still medium-firm, but it’s slightly firmer than the Natural Escape. Plus, you can opt for a flippable option. Mattresses with two sides can be flipped to extend their lifespan.  This is also a great feature if you have kids who have grown out of bed-wetting—simply switch to a cleaner side without having to purchase a new mattress.

The innerspring system reduces motion-transfer, which means less disturbance for those sleeping with partners. As with the Natural Escape, the Kiwi has firmer coils around the perimeter to enhance edge support. My Green Mattress notes that steel springs have a lifespan 4x that of foam, so this bed will last you a long time. An extra level of lumbar support comes from the curve-hugging latex layer.

My Green Hope Latex Mattress

If you’re concerned about EMF (electromagnetic field) exposure, the Hope Latex mattress is free of innerspring layers. This mattress is composed of 3 layers of  GOLS certified organic Dunlop latex foam with varying firmness levels. The bottom layer is firm, making it a sturdy, durable base. The middle layer is medium-firm and contours to your body’s natural curves. The top layer is soft, providing a cozy, plush feel.

As with other My Green mattresses, the Hope latex mattress is made with all-natural, renewable resources. The quilted cover is made of organic cotton and wool, which aren’t treated with harmful chemicals. The natural Dunlop latex is sustainably harvested from the rubber trees, and is hypoallergenic. It’s also resistant to mold, mildew, and dust-mites.

Latex is an excellent choice for all sleep styles. The Hope Latex mattress works well for all sleep positions, including stomach sleepers, side sleepers, back sleepers, and combination sleepers. The bottom two layers provide enough firmness for spinal alignment and the soft top layer cushions your skeletal system. Latex is also great for couples because it’s buoyancy reduces motion transfer.

Like the full-sized Kiwi mattress, the Kiwi Bunk Bed mattress features a pocketed coil spring system beneath a layer of bouncy organic Dunlop latex and organic cotton and wool quilted cover. These materials are ideal for kiddos with allergies or asthma, since they’re hypoallergenic. Rest assured that wool is a natural flame retardant. The materials are bonded by a button-tufted design, rather than chemical adhesives.

My Green Emily Crib Mattress

A good night’s sleep for babies is also a good night’s sleep for mom and dad. My Green Mattresses use only Greenguard Gold certified natural materials in their Emily Crib Mattress, including a quilted cover made of GOTS certified organic cotton and organic wool and a GOLS certified organic coconut coir pad. There is no off-gassing from this mattress, and special care is taken to use only natural materials for adhesives and flame retardants

The cotton cover is breathable and plush, and the latex and innerspring layers keep your baby’s body cushioned and supported. Latex and coils are breathable, creating an ideal temperature for sleep. All materials used are hypoallergenic naturally antibacterial. Latex resists mold, mildew, and dust-mites, so you little one gets a clean night’s sleep.

My Green Pure Echo Mattress

The Pure Echo Mattress is latex-free, making it the go-to choice for those with latex allergies. Instead of latex, the comfort layer is made of 100% GOTS Certified organic cotton. The mattress cover is woven from GOTS certified organic cotton and natural wool, and acts as a natural flame retardant. A coil system forms a durable foundation.

The cotton layer cushions your unique shape, providing pressure relief to achy joints and muscles. The bottom innerspring layer absorbs motion and quickly responds to movement. This feature is excellent for couples or parents who expect midnight visits from children. The Pure Echo is firm, so it perfectly suits stomach and back sleepers and those who prefer a firmer feel. Side sleepers can add a latex topper for added contouring and cushion.

The button tufted design eliminates the need for artificial bonding that can cause harmful off-gassing. Use the Pure Echo on your floor, traditional bed bases, or an adjustable base for extra ergonomic support. It breaks in after about 3 months, during which you should rotate the mattress once a month. After the break-in period, seasonal rotations will reduce the possibility of body impressions.

My Green Mattress Company Overview

My Green Mattress is a Illinois-based mattress company, founded by Tim Masters as a way to provide an all-natural bed for his daughter with eczema and environmental allergies. They hand make each mattress in the USA, and sell factory-direct to you, rather than through authorized dealers. Besides mattresses, they sell latex mattress toppers, mattress protectors, latex pillows, and platform beds. As a family-run business, you can expect attentive service and bed crafted with heart.

My Green Mattress received a GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) and GOLS (Global Organic Latex Standard) Factory Certification. Recipients of this certification use only organic materials that are manufactured in an environment-friendly way. In fact, all the materials used in My Green Mattresses can be traced to the specific farm from which they were harvested.

Organic cotton is a plush alternative to synthetic fibers. It’s grown and harvested without pesticides.. The organic wool in My Green Mattress covers is biodegradable and comes from humanely treated sheep with an organic diet. The latex used is sourced from organic rubber tree sap and doesn’t have any off-gassing effects like some memory foams.

Shipping

My Green Mattress makes each mattress to order, which takes between 1-3 days. They offer free shipping through FedEX, and factory-to-doorstep delivery takes a few days to 2 weeks, depending on how far you are from their factory in Illinois. There is an extra shipping charge for deliveries to Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada.

If you’re interested in white glove delivery service, you can add it to your purchase for $199. Your new mattress will be completely set up and your old mattress removed. This service is coordinated by the delivery provider who services you; they’ll contact you to schedule a day and time that works for you. Keep in mind that, should you decide to return your mattress, the white glove fee won’t be refunded to you.

Trial and Warranty

Trial

Shoppers get a 120 night sleep trial to test their new mattress, which is a typical mattress trial period. My Green Mattress asks that you sleep on your new bed for at least 30 days before requesting a return or exchange. This is the standard amount of time your body needs to adjust to a new bed.

If your mattress just isn’t right for you, a full refund will be issued. You will need to donate the used mattress to an eligible charity and provide proof in the form of a donation receipt and photo. My Green Mattress can recommend a charity to you, if necessary. Alternatively, you can discard that mattress as a last resort.

If you want to try a different mattress, you can request an exchange (one per household) for a new model. Size exchanges aren’t offered. You’ll need to pay only the difference between the original mattress and the new mattress. Returns are not available for exchanged mattresses.

Warranty

My Green Mattress offers a limited 20-year warranty on all of their mattresses. You must be the original buyer and have purchased directly from My Green Mattress for the warranty to apply. You must also open your mattress within 2-weeks of delivery. If covered, you’ll receive a new mattress of equal size and model.

Covered defects include impressions deeper than 1.5 inches (or .75 inches for crib mattresses), dysfunctional coils, and fabric tears caused by normal use. The indents must be clearly visible and coil system issues must result in either a visible coil or an uneven mattress surface. Note that mattresses with stains are not replaceable or repairable, and thus not covered under warranty.

All replacements or repairs are free during the initial 10 years after purchase. For years 11-20, replacements will be given at a prorated amount, including shipping and handling.

Claims can be filed on the My Green Mattress company website. You’ll be asked to describe the defect and how it reduces mattress performance. Make sure you collect the following, as you’ll need them when submitting a warranty claim: the order confirmation number, a photo of the law tag on the mattress, a photo of the defect, and a photo of the whole mattress (to prove there are no stains).

FAQs

Q.

How are natural latex and memory foam different?

A.

Natural latex is created from sap harvested from rubber trees, while memory foam is created from petroleum. It’s also a synthetic substance rather than a natural one. People with chemical allergies or sensitivities will experience less symptoms with natural latex. It is also known to be more durable than memory foam. Some people like latex better than memory foam because it is cooler and creates less sinkage.

Q.

Is my mattress defective if it develops body impressions?

A.

Body impressions occur when the weight of your body compresses the mattress materials. My Green Mattress uses wool, cotton, latex, and coils in their mattresses. All of these except coils are prone to impressions over time. Rotating your mattress head-to-toe can reduce the chance of impressions. For the first 3 months, rotate the mattress once a month, and then rotate it seasonally (once every 4 months).

Q.

What kinds of bases are your mattresses compatible with?

A.

Any solid, level surface works. Common bases include a boxspring, slatted foundation, and the floor. My Green Mattresses are also compatible with adjustable bed bases.
