Nectar Mattress Review Highlights
- Nectar’s Lifetime Warranty is its standout feature. You are protected against defects from normal use for the entire time you own your Nectar mattress.
- Nectar also offers a 365-day sleep trial. That’s a whole year to test out your new mattress before committing to it!
- Nectar scored 8.5/10 on our rigorous pressure relief assessment. Mattresses that take stress off of pressure points are ideal for side sleepers and those with joint pain.
- The Nectar also scored well in our motion transfer test. It absorbs movement, so you aren’t woken up when your precious pooch joins you on the bed at 2 a.m.
- A mattress that quickly adjusts to changes in your position is high in responsiveness. Nectar received an 8.5/10 score in this category, which is great for memory foam.

Loom & Leaf Mattress Review Highlights
- Loom & Leaf offers two firmness options, so their mattress appeals to a wider range of sleepers. Stomach sleepers will especially appreciate the relaxed firm option, and back sleepers will likely prefer the firm mattress.
- As a luxury mattress brand, Loom & Leaf chooses high-quality materials for their products. They use organic cotton in their cover and premium foam in their core layers.
- The Loom & Leaf mattress received a nearly perfect score for spinal alignment. With 9/10 points, you can be confident that you’ll have good posture while you sleep and less back pain when you wake.
- Loom & Leaf makes a very durable bed. You can count on it keeping its form over years of use, so there’s no need to worry about sagging or cracking of the memory foam.

Compare Construction
The Nectar and Loom & Leaf are both all-foam beds. Nectar uses a combination of high-density gel memory foam and dynamic support foam to create a standard 6/10 on the firmness scale, or medium-firm feel, that most sleep positions will find comfortable. It’s the Goldilocks of mattresses, not too firm and not too soft.
The Loom & Leaf also uses gel memory foam for enhanced breathability and a high-density memory foam core to give a hugging sensation. This bed comes in a relaxed firm, or 6/10, and firm, or 8/10 option. Those that prefer firmer mattresses will like the firm comfort level.

Nectar Mattress Construction
- Polyethylene Cover: A plush cover with polyethylene, knit, and polyester that is soft and breathable.
- Gel Memory Foam: A medical grade top layer of memory foam that absorbs and evenly distributes your body weight and heat.
- Transition Layer: A thick layer of Adaptive Hi-Core memory foam that conforms to your curves and prevents you from sinking too deeply into the mattress.
- Base Layer: A high-density foam base that adds stability and durability to the overall mattress.
- Bottom Mattress Cover: A cover specially designed to prevent the mattress from sliding off its foundation.

Loom & Leaf Mattress Construction
- Organic Cotton Cover: A breathable, soft cover that is shielded by a botanical antimicrobial treatment called Guardin®.
- Cooling Gel Layer: This top layer creates immediate coolness by absorbing your body heat and redistributing it across the mattress surface. It also targets your lumbar region with denser gel for enhanced support.
- Premium Memory Foam Layer: The second of multiple layers of memory foam provides contouring to your unique form.
- Support Layers: Multiple polyfoam layers gradually become firmer. They prevent premature sagging and extend the lifespan of the mattress.

Pressure Relief and Sleeping Position
Sleeping position is an important consideration when shopping for the right mattress. We recommend the Nectar for side sleepers. It scored 8.5/10 for pressure relief, while Loom & Leaf only scored 7/10. Side sleepers really need extra cushion on their shoulders and hips; otherwise, they’ll fall out of spinal alignment and develop back and neck pain. Nectar’s mattress delivers in this area.
Stomach sleepers will feel the most comfortable on either the Nectar or the relaxed firm Loom & Leaf mattress. Both fall at about 6.5/10 on the firmness scale, meaning they provide enough softness to cushion rib and hip bones and enough support to keep the spine aligned.
We recommend the firm Loom & Leaf mattress for back sleepers, who don’t need as much pressure relief as side sleepers. The firm option still contours closely to your natural back curves, but prevents too much sinkage, so your back stays aligned while you sleep.
Budget
There’s no question—the Nectar is the more affordable mattress. For those willing to pay a luxury price, the Loom & Leaf scored higher on spinal alignment and durability. It’s also constructed of organic and premium materials, which account for some of the added cost and luxury label.
Motion Transfer
Couples and light sleepers should go with the Nectar. Not only did it perform really well on our motion transfer evaluation (8.5/10), but Loom & Leaf scored remarkably low (5/10). The Nectar is going to do a much better job of eliminating movement-related disturbances during the night. If you sleep alone or are a very heavy sleeper, this may not be a big deal for you.
Trial Period and Warranty
If you are concerned about warranty coverage, it’s hard to beat Nectar’s and Saatva’s lifetime warranties. Both companies also offer a 365-day sleep trial. If you need a long time to make decisions, or if you’d like to test the mattress in multiple seasons, either one is a good option for you.
Finally, consumers who want a luxury delivery experience, or who simply need extra help setting up their mattress, will enjoy Loom & Leaf’s free white glove delivery service. Nectar delivers your mattress compressed, rolled, and boxed. You’ll need to carry it inside, unbox it, and unroll it on your foundation. It will take around 24 hours to fully inflate.
Summary
Is Nectar or Loom & Leaf the Right Choice for You?
Still unclear about which of these beds is for you? These are our recommendations by sleeping position, budget, sleep environment, and buying experience.
Nectar has better pressure relief for side sleepers, and Loom & Leaf has better spinal alignment for back and stomach sleepers. Nectar is definitely the lower cost mattress. Both beds have an average score for cooling. Nectar and Saatva offer a lifetime warranty and yearlong sleep trial, but Loom & Leaf gives you free white-glove delivery.
Hopefully, you now have a good idea of which of these is the best mattress for you. Regardless of what you choose, we trust that you’ll have sweet dreams in your future!
