Puffy Cloud Mattress Review Highlights
- Cooling: Puffy designed their Cooling Cloud layer to regulate the temperature of your sleeping surface. It features cooling gel that is cool-on-contact and prevents heat from staying trapped in the foam layers. It’s also high in breathability, garnering a 8/10 score for cooling in our lab assessment.
- Spine Alignment: You can have excellent posture throughout the day and at night thanks to the Puffy Cloud’s excellent spine alignment capabilities.
- Lifetime Warranty: Your new bed from Puffy is protected for life. In other words, you pay one price for your original mattress and never need to buy another full-priced mattress again. We’re not sure it gets much better than that!
- Stain-Resistant Cover: The top layer of your Puffy bed repels spills and cleans up quickly. It’s also zipper-removable, so you can deep clean dirt and germs that accumulate over time.
- Puffy offers two other luxury beds: the Puffy Royal Hybrid and the Puffy Lux Hybrid.

Casper Mattress Review Highlights
- Recommended for Side Sleepers: We included the Casper mattress in our list of top-rated beds for side sleepers because it scored high on spinal alignment and pressure relief. Both are vital for side sleepers to wake up without pain and stiffness in their shoulders and lower back.
- Zoned Support™: Casper designed their comfort layer to uniquely support each region of your body. Shoulders, knees, and ankles are cushioned with softer foam while hips and the lower back region are supported with firmer foam.
- Breathable: Memory foam has a reputation for absorbing all your body heat throughout the night, making it too hot to rest well. Casper’s top layer is perforated, which improves airflow, keeping you cooler while you sleep.
- Responsiveness: The Casper scored a perfect 10/10 on our responsiveness test. It quickly conforms to changes in your position, so you can move without having to wait for your mattress to adjust.
- Universal Comfort: Casper is 7/10 on the firmness scale, which suits most sleep positions. Its medium-firm feel is supportive enough for back sleepers and contouring enough for side and stomach sleepers.
- Memory foam isn’t the only type of mattress Casper makes. Check out the Casper Hybrid mattress, Casper Nova Hybrid, Casper Element, and the Casper Wave Hybrid.

Compare What’s Inside
Get a closer look at each layer of memory foam that makes up the Puffy Cloud and Casper mattresses.

Inside the Puffy Cloud Mattress
- Stain-Resistant Cover: A high-quality removable outer cover that is hypoallergenic and easy to clean.
- Cooling Cloud Foam (2″): The first layer of the Puffy mattress is infused with gel that maintains a comfortable temperature inside the memory foam. It’s also responsive, so you’ll stay supported no matter how many times you change position.
- ClimateComfort™ Foam (2″): The second layer of memory foam resists expanding in higher temperatures, which ensures that your pressure relief remains undisrupted.
- Firm Core Foam (6″): A sturdy polyfoam support layer prevents sinkage and keeps your body weight supported over years of use.

Inside the Casper Mattress
- Airscape™ Foam: This memory foam layer features hundreds of tiny holes that improve airflow, resulting in a cooler night’s sleep.
-
Zoned Support™ Layer: The middle layer is divided into 3 ergonomic zones that provide firmer support for your lumbar region and softer cushioning for your shoulders and knees. This targeted firmness also helps to keep your spine aligned, which is important for reducing or preventing back pain.
- Base Layer: A thick foam layer prevents sagging and prolongs the lifespan of your mattress.

Edge Support
When it comes to edge support, the Casper mattress scored a full point more than a Puffy mattress. This makes it a better option for those that want to utilize every inch of their bed. It also makes getting into bed easier and is helpful for those that like to sit on the edge of the bed to put their shoes on.
Spine Alignment
Both mattresses scored exceptionally in our spine alignment assessment. Mattresses with excellent spine alignment help you keep a good posture at night so you can wake up free of aches. We think either of these beds would be a great option for those with lower back pain.
Responsiveness
While the Puffy Cloud scored below average for responsiveness, the Casper earned a perfect 10/10 during our testing day. This makes it a better option for combination sleepers who move around at night. Puffy however is difficult to move around on due to its thick layers of memory foam.
Verdict: Which Is the Best Mattress?
Casper provides better pressure and spinal relief for side sleepers. Puffy is better for couples who need motion isolation. Puffy is cooler, making it the preferred option for hot sleepers. Casper is the more budget-friendly option. Puffy’s lifetime warranty is the better choice for those concerned about protection against defects.
Read on for a more thorough discussion of which mattress is best for each of these categories.
Sleeping Position
Every sleep position needs a mattress that supports spinal alignment, and Casper scores higher in this category. Casper also scores higher for pressure relief, which means it will be more comfortable for side sleepers.
A highly responsive mattress is important for combination sleepers who change position throughout the night. Again, Casper takes the cake, this time with a perfect 10/10. However, it’s worth noting that the Puffy mattress wasn’t too far behind, with a 9/10 score.
Sleep Environment
If you’re sleeping with someone, you’ll want to think about motion isolation, which is a mattress’s ability to absorb movement. The Casper mattress scored slightly higher in this category, but neither mattress did exceptionally.
Mattress temperature is also important, particularly with foam beds. Puffy scored a full point higher than Casper for cooling, so it’s the better choice for those who sleep hot.
Budget
Of the two mattresses, Casper is the more affordable option. Neither mattress brand is prohibitively expensive, and both offer financing options to shoppers (Casper through Affirm and Puffy through Klarna) and discounts. Check out our pages on Casper mattress coupons and Puffy mattress coupons for the latest deals.
Consumer Experience
This is one area where these mattresses differ significantly. Puffy offers their mattress owners a lifetime warranty, whereas Casper offers only a 10-year limited warranty. The typical mattress remains effective for at least 10 years, so both warranties cover the mattress’s lifespan.
Both Puffy and Leesa provide a 3+ month trial period. Puffy’s is a single day longer than Casper’s at 101 nights compared to 100-nights.
