With so many new mattress brands making an appearance in the market, it can be hard to know who to trust to make great mattresses. This is not the case with Sealy. The Sealy mattress brand has been around for 130 years, making mattresses right here in the USA.
If you want to easily navigate this trusted brand, Mattress Advisor has got you covered. We’ve researched Sealy’s wide range of mattress options and consolidated them into this guide. We’ll review each mattress collection, hitting the price range, customer reviews, and who we think would love it.
Sealy has three main traditional mattress collections they dub “lines”: the response line, the conform line, and the hybrid line. Each line has three mattresses that range from good to better to best: an Essentials collection, a Performance collection, and a Premium collection.
Sealy also knows how to keep up with the growing demand in online mattress shopping, so they introduced Cocoon by Sealy, Sealy’s own bed-in-a-box collection.
|Collections||Mattress Type||Number of Mattresses||Best For…||Price Range||Rating and Reviews|
|The Response Line||Innerspring Mattresses||3||Back Pain||$399-$1,299||4.7 out of 5 stars, 14,603 reviews|
|The Conform Line||Memory Foam Mattresses||3||Couples||$699-$1,799||4.7 out of 5 stars, 1,231 reviews|
|The Hybrid Line||Hybrid Mattresses||3||Combo Sleepers||$999-$1,799||4.6 out of 5 stars, 14,603 reviews|
|Cocoon by Sealy||Bed-in-a-Box||2||Hot Sleepers||$697.50-$799||4.6 out of 5 stars, 1,613 reviews|
Now, that you have an idea what these collections contain, let’s take a deeper dive into each.
The Response line from Sealy uses innerspring options to support every move you make throughout the night. Each mattress in this collection has an edge support feature to give you a solid sleep surface.
The Sealy Conform collection uses memory foam to hug your body and relieve pressure points as you sleep. Each comfort layer incorporates gel memory foam to keep you cool as you sink down into the mattress.
Sealy is a mattress brand with over a century of history attached to it. Back in 1881, Daniel Hayes of Sealy, Texas was simply making cotton-stuffed mattresses for his friends. Eight years later, he invented a machine that compressed cotton and then licensed his invention to make more mattresses.
Fast forward to the 50’s when their patented Posturepedic Technology™ was invented. Posturepedic was created and perfected by orthopedic specialists to offer reinforced support in the middle of the mattress where 50% of you body weight lies. This allows your body to be level as you sleep, which is great for your spine as well as aches and pains.
In 2012, Sealy and Tempur-Pedic merged into one company but are still independently owned.
Now, Sealy still makes their mattresses in the US and sells them across the country. They are rated the number 1 best hybrid seller. You can find their mattresses in retailers using this locator, or you can buy online and have your Sealy mattress delivered to your door.
Pricing varies by collection. Typically, the Essentials mattresses are the most budget friendly and the Premium mattresses are a luxury splurge. Twin XL and Twin Long sizes are synonymous terms.
|Collection||Price Range||Size Range|
|The Response Line||$399-$1,399||Twin, Twin Long, Full, Queen, King, CA King|
|The Conform Line||$499-$2,499||Twin, Twin Long, Full, Queen, King, CA King|
|The Hybrid Line||$999-$2,499||Twin Long, Full, Queen, King, CA King|
|Cocoon by Sealy||$697.50-$799||Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, CA King|
The shipping and delivery for your Sealy mattress is free. Your mattress should get to you in about 5-7 days.
Sealy offers a 10-year warranty on almost all of their mattresses; the Sealy 8” Essential mattresses have a 5-year warranty. All of their mattresses do come with a 100-night trial.
Sealy recommends that you rotate your mattress regularly to refresh its comfort. Their mattresses have lots of layers of upholstery padding that increase their comfort life and support performance. As you sleep on it in the early stages, body impressions are a normal occurrence; they indicate that the upholstery layers are conforming to your individual body contours. To help minimize body compressions, your Sealy mattress should be turned occasionally throughout its life.
The warranty covers manufacturer defects as well as 1” or deeper dips and impressions, not personal abuse.
If you decide you’re no longer a fan of your new Sealy mattress, they make returns hassle-free—just contact customer service, and they’ll send you your money back, no questions asked, and they’ll arrange to pick up the mattress.
All of the foams used in your Sealy mattress are safe and eco-friendly. They are certified by the CertiPUR-US® program, a not-for-profit organization that conducts rigorous safety inspections before awarding these certifications.
