For nearly a century, Serta has been bringing the best in mattress technology to bedrooms across the United States. They remain America’s number one mattress manufacturer, with consumers loving their wide selection and high-quality construction.

As more sleepers are transitioning from traditional innerspring mattresses to all-foam beds, Serta is meeting their needs with memory foam mattresses that suit every sleeper. In recent years, they’ve begun crafting memory foam mattresses to compete in the bed-in-a-box industry.

In this review, we’ll share with you what you should know about Serta’s three bed-in-a-box foam mattresses to help you decide what mattress is best for you.

Serta Memory Foam Mattresses Overview

Not only does online mattress shopping open up the number of options available to you, but it also means luxury mattresses at bargain prices. Along this vein, Serta now manufactures memory foam beds that are sold online rather than in physical stores. Instead of going to a local retailer, you can order these mattresses to be delivered right to your door.

Here we will review Serta’s three memory foam bed-in-a-box mattresses.

Mattress Name Mattress Type Best for Price Range
Serta iComfort Memory Foam Hot Sleepers $809–$1,299
Serta Premium 9 inch Memory Foam Budget Shoppers $399–$799
Perfect Sleeper Express 10 inch Memory Foam Combo Sleepers $499–$899
Perfect Sleeper Express 12 inch Memory Foam Heavy Sleepers $699–$1,099

Serta iComfort Mattress

The Serta iComfort is a plush soft mattress with a few different cooling upgrades and firmness levels available. You can choose between adding cooling gel, add carbon fiber cooling, the carbon fiber cooling with increased breathability, or the carbon fiber with an entire air support layer added. Check out the iComfort Hybrid for a cooling bed with additional support.

Serta Premium 9 inch Mattress

The Serta Premium 9” is a firm mattress made up of two layers of foam. Its upper comfort layer is 2” of slow response, gel-infused foam atop a Foam Core support layer. The gel foam reduces heat retention, absorbing and dissipating body heat rather than feeding it back over the night. The slow response foam gently cradles the body, without allowing too much give. The feel is one of firm, cool support with pressure relief where you need it the most.

Serta Perfect Sleeper Express 10 inch Mattress

The Serta Perfect Sleeper Express 10” mattress is a slightly more plush version of the Premier. With 3” of premium gel memory foam rather than 2”, the Perfect Sleeper Express 10” achieves greater pressure point relief. The additional cushioning is slight, yielding a medium-firm feel, making it an ideal mattress for back sleepers who like a bit of comfort. And with exceptional motion isolation, this mattress fits the needs of couples who share a bed.

Serta Perfect Sleeper Express 12 inch Mattress

The Serta Perfect Sleeper Express 12” mattress is a luxury memory foam bed. Its 3” premium gel memory foam top layer cushions pressure points, while the 3” of gel-infused support foam molds to the body. This all-foam bed is best for those who like a moderate contouring hug, a feel that falls between sleeping “in” and “on” a mattress. With exceptional pressure relief combined with reliable support from the 6” foam core, this mattress soothes back pain by keeping the spine properly aligned. This mattress is best for back sleepers and a good mattress choice for side sleepers.

Shipping

Serta offers free delivery when you buy a mattress directly from Serta.com. Serta requires someone to be there to accept the mattress, which takes between 7 to 15 business days to arrive. Serta’s delivery service, XPO Logistics, will contact you to set up a delivery time. Their delivery hours are Monday-Saturday from 7 A.M. to 7 P.M.

For an extra fee, Serta makes setting up a new mattress simple. If you want your new mattress set up and old mattress removed, simply select White Glove Delivery at checkout.

When you buy a new Serta mattress from another site, like Amazon or US-Mattress, the shipping costs and options may differ. Refer to the third-party site for shipping details.

Trial and Warranty

Serta.com backs their mattresses with a 120-day in-home trial. From the day your mattress is delivered, you have 120 nights to sleep on the mattress to ensure that it’s the right bed for you.

Serta recommends that you give your new mattress three or more weeks before you make a final decision. Both the mattress and your body can take time to adjust. This break-in period is particularly important for memory foam mattresses. The foam takes weeks of pressure to slightly break in and deliver the feel that it will have for the following years.

If you have tried your new mattress for three weeks and have decided to return it, you can do so at no extra cost. Serta offers free returns in their effort to help their customers attain healthy, restful sleep. Email them at support@serta.com or call them at 1-888-708-1466 to initiate a return.

The 120-day trial period only applies to mattresses purchased at Serta.com. When you buy your mattress at a brick-and-mortar store or through a third-party online retailer, you should inquire about their return policy. Keep in mind that online mattresses are usually backed by a more generous trial period than in-store purchases.

Whether you purchase your mattress directly through Serta or from a third-party seller, every new Serta mattress is backed by an industry-standard 10-year warranty. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship, such as excessive sagging.

Q.

How long do Serta memory foam mattresses last?

Serta memory foam mattresses are made to last you anywhere between seven to ten years if they are well cared for. Typically, caring for your Serta mattress includes using a mattress protector with your mattress, avoiding spills, and regularly rotating your bed every few months.

Q.

Can you flip a Serta memory foam mattress?

A.

Q.

Why does my new Serta mattress have an odor?

A.

Every mattress with memory foam needs a few days for off-gassing. This is because memory foam is made from polyurethane, a material known to release particles for the first few days after it’s opened. Rest assured, the odor isn’t dangerous and it dissipates within a few days.
