After the success of the original Casper mattress, we were intrigued to hear that they were coming out with an upgrade. After all, how can you improve upon perfection? Well, the engineers at Casper Labs spent five years doing just that and we have to say- their newest addition is quickly becoming the crowned jewel of their mattress line.

Our mission at Mattress Advisor is to make the process of purchasing a new mattress easy and point our readers in the right direction when it comes to choosing a mattress. With that in mind, I’m going to show you why we love the new Casper Hybrid and think it is an excellent choice for your next mattress purchase.

The Casper Hybrid is the original favorite, upgraded

One of the things we love the most about Casper is that they are always refining and improving upon their product based on customer reviews and sleep tests. So you know when they come out with a new addition, it’s going to be a people pleaser.

Casper spent five years conducting research and designing their new hybrid mattress. That’s a lot of time to spend pouring over test scores and reviews but I’d have to say, it was time well spent. Here’s why.

They’ve struck a perfect balance between comfort and support

With the new hybrid mattress, Casper has struck the perfect balance between the contour of memory foam and the bounce of pocket-coils. This advanced design enhances durability and increases edge support. For you, it means you get cloud-like comfort with added support for your body. You’ll get a better nights sleep and wake up feeling rested. It’s truly the best of both worlds in terms of the benefit of memory foam versus spring coils.

“My wife and I both love the bed. I usually prefer a much firmer mattress and my wife prefers a soft mattress, yet we’re both satisfied. The bed was easy to unpack and within minutes was ready for sleeping. Definitely the best value in mattresses!”

Their patented Zoned Support™ is a game-changer

What makes Casper mattresses different from others is their patented Zoned Support™. This is a specialized foam layer that offers varying levels of support across different regions of the body. Softer foam is used in the upper portion of the mattress to cradle the shoulders and a firmer foam is used in the lower region to support the hips.

When it comes to getting a good night’s sleep, Zoned Support™ creates proper spinal alignment and relieves your pressure points providing you with a restful nights sleep and allowing you to wake up pain-free.

The Casper Hybrid offers temperature regulation and ventilation

Many memory foam beds can feel stuffy because they don’t provide good ventilation. Our body temperature rises when we sleep, but some of us struggle more than others. If you’re a hot sleeper, a mattress with poor breathability can make for a sweaty, uncomfortable night.

With the Casper Hybrid’s breathable open-cell foam and the added airflow friendly coils, temperature regulation is easy. For you, that means you’ll feel cool and comfortable. You’ll fall asleep quickly and stay asleep all night.

But how does it measure up to Mattress Advisor’s high standards?

The Mattress Advisors personally tested the Casper Hybrid in the Mattress Lab using the same procedure and 14-point evaluation that we use for every mattress we test. The final score is a maximum of 10 points and is a weighted average of each element of function and performance we test for.

The Casper Hybrid scored a 9.4 out of a possible 10 points. That’s the highest score a mattress has received to date. To read the full, in-depth evaluation and review, you can go here. But there are a few key points that really impressed me and made me feel confident in recommending this mattress to you.

Here are the most important takeaways

Motion Transfer – 9.5

Do you share your bed with another person? Or perhaps co-sleep with children or pets? If you’re sharing your mattress, whether, with people or animals, you don’t want to be lurched out of a restful sleep every time someone decides to shift positions or has to get up in the middle of the night.

The Casper Hybrid scored very high in motion transfer tests (meaning little motion transfer between testes) and I would recommend it for anyone who will be sharing their bed at night. It makes for a peaceful nights sleep for everyone, and less interrupted sleep means a more rested and energetic day to follow.

Edge Support – 9.5

If this is the first time you’re hearing this term, allow me to explain how important it is. Do you ever sit on the edge of your bed to tie your shoe or reach into your dresser? Do you end up sleeping near the edge of the bed or like to let your limbs hang off the side? If so, this is why good edge support matters.

With the Casper Hybrid, you won’t slide off when you sit on the edge of the bed. Or, if you bend one of your legs while sleeping and it’s off the side of the mattress, you won’t feel any pressure at the point of contact or lack of support for the rest of your body.

Spinal Alignment – 9.25

If you’ve developed unexplainable back pain in recent years, it could be due to your mattress. Seriously! Think about it. You spend eight hours a night on your mattress (if you’re a typical sleeper). If you’re spending that much time in one position, you’re going to need support for your back. If you’re not getting it, it won’t be long before your back lets you know about it.

Therefore, spinal alignment on a mattress is key, especially if you already have chronic back pain. If you want to wake up rested and free from aches and pains that could be caused or exacerbated by an unsupportive mattress, you need the Casper Hybrid.

Responsiveness – 9.5

Lastly, it’s worth noting that this mattress scored a 9.5 in responsiveness. That means if you change position while you sleep, the mattress changes with you and you are much more likely to stay asleep and retain good support.

For example, if you’re on your side, then the mattress should be in an absorbing position. Then let’s say you shift onto your back. If the mattress responsiveness is poor, you’ll end up in a sort of dam-like hole. That’s not good for your back and the unnatural feeling will likely wake you up. Thankfully, the Casper Hybrid mattress is quick to adjust whenever you adjust so no matter what position you’re in, you’re getting the right support.

Closing Thoughts

With its awesome improvements and high score when put under rigorous testing, I strongly recommend it for our readers. Don’t spend another night tossing and turning on an uncomfortable mattress. Click here for the best price on a NEW Casper Hybrid.
