I’ve been on the hunt for the best dog bed for quite some time now. With two rowdy and energetic Aussies, I’ve been through it all: dog beds that are too firm, too hot, attract too much dog hair, or just simply don’t stand the test of eager puppy teeth. (I’ve come home to shredded dog bed stuffing more times than any pet owner should have to.)
So, I’ll be honest – when I heard that Tuft & Needle was making dog beds, I was rightfully skeptical. But we’re now a few weeks into experiencing the new Tuft & Needle foam dog bed and let’s just say it’s a league of its own. (Milo and Cosmo both agree).
There are lots of things I love about this dog bed, but here are the features that stand out to me the most.
Durable canvas cover – This one was big for me as my fur-babies tend to get anxious when we’re not home and resort to destroying all the fluffy things, like pillows, couch cushions and…dog beds. The canvas cover on the Tuft & Needle dog bed makes it difficult for my dogs to tear through it, while still offering a comfortable place to rest.
Removable cushion – If you’ve mastered crate training (kudos to you), you can actually remove the top cushion and put it in your dog’s crate. The cushion folds up for easy transporting as well.
Machine washable cover – Remember when I said I had two Aussies? I can probably make a third out of all the hair they shed. So, having a dog bed with a machine washable cover was a must-have for me. The cover of the Tuft & Needle dog bed easily zips off and can be thrown in the washing machine (but not the dryer!).
Fair price – Compared to other high-end dog beds on the market, the Tuft & Needle dog bed is reasonably priced considering the quality and durability of the bed. Prices range from $120 – $200 depending on the size. (This is also without any exclusive discounts.)
Dig-friendly – Put simply, my dogs like to dig. They’re lucky they’re so adorable because at certain times of the year, my backyard looks like the movie, Holes. But the durable cover and responsive filling stand up to even the most extreme diggers. The plush cushion top is moldable to fit your dog’s resting/sleeping preferences as well. They have it good, don’t they?
Full-perimeter edge for optimal head-resting – The Tuft & Needle dog bed has base support that surround the entire perimeter of the bed. This is great for keeping its shape, but also makes for an ideal spot for your dog to rest its head no many where they decide to plop down for a nap.
Water resistant – If your dog has ever barreled into your house after playing outside in the rain, you know how important a water-resistant dog bed is. Tuft & Needle’s canvas cover is not only water resistant but makes it easy to wipe up dirt and stains that your furry friends might bring in with them.
Aesthetically pleasing design – The Tuft & Needle dog bed comes in three neutral colors that complement many home styles. It also has a sleek, simple design. Even the logo is only very subtly included on the tag. I’ve owned many a dog beds that were quite the eyesore – the Tuft & Needle dog bed is not one of them.
The Tuft & Needle dog bed comes in three sizes. See below for pricing, dimensions and weight to determine which size might be best for you.

I'm a big fan of this dog bed. The dimensions are perfect for the crate I ordered, so the company did their homework there. Justin P.
Sydney (my dog) loves the bed. The tie-downs are super helpful for keeping it in place, love that I can wash it and also remove the cushion to take on the go in the car. Highly recommend it for any fellow dog-owners. Logan Y.
Great quality. Our dog loves! Absolutely recommended. Easy to clean although have not had to wash it yet. Very pleased with it all around. BigO
